Bishop William Justice, Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco, visited St. Patrick's Seminary & University on Thursday, March 31, 2011 and offered the regularly scheduled Spanish Mass with the seminary community.
In his homily he made the important distinction, in light of the Gospel, that Christ encourages us to listen (and thus respond) and not just hear (in a passive sense) the Will of God. The Church's celebration of Lent is a perfect opportunity for that activity to occur. As the days lengthen, the Bishop said, and our journey towards the light of Easter increases, we are then able to hear the Lord's call more readily. The Seminary thanks Bishop Justice for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit and offer Mass at St. Patrick's.
