2015 Rector's Appeal

"The world needs God - not just any god but the God of Jesus Christ, the God who made himself flesh and blood, who loved us to the point of dying for us, who rose and created within himself room for man. This God must live in us and we in him. This is our priestly call: only in this way can our action as priests bear fruit."
-Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in his homily at Chirsm Mass on Holy Thursday, April 13, 2006

For one hundred and seventeen years, St. Patrick's Seminary & University has lived out this teaching. Our mission has been, and remains, the formation of priests who searve to make the God of Jesus Christ a living presence and a source of hope to humanity. Pope Francis reminds us that carrying Christ's word and his saving action to the most vulnerable among us must be the single passion of the priest today.

This is the taske and mission of St. Patrick's. Through course work, field education, a discipline of prayer, and pastoral encounters, our seminarians are formed to become the priests necessary in our time and place. We need your help to accomplish this mission. Your generosity will provide resources essential to educating and instructing the men who will one day serve as priests in your parish.

On behalf of the seminarians, faculty and staff of St. Patrick's Seminary & University, I sincerely thank you for your continual support and invite you to visit our historic and beautiful campus.
