Following Vespers, tours were held for guests in the historic Seminary, while cocktails and conversations began to flow.   As dinner began Auxiliary Bishop Tom Daly, from the Diocese of San Jose, offered grace.  Throughout the evening guests were entertained with a raffle, and a live auction. A five piece jazz ensemble entertained guests throughout the evening.

The recipient of this year’s Four Pillars Gala Award, Mrs. Barbara McCullough, was in attendance with her family and close friends.  The highlight of the evening came when Mrs. Jeannie Stiles accepted the Four Pillars Award on behalf of her mother.  Her touching words of gratitude very much added inspiration to the evening.    She shared the philosophy of her mother Barbara and her late father Robert and their dedication and commitment toward their Catholic faith which is shown through their generous giving to Catholic education and toward the formation of future priests over a period of many years.

Also on hand to give testimonials to Mrs. McCullough were seminarians Cameron Faller and Andrew Ginter, who are studying for the Archdiocese of San Francisco.  Both men shared with our guests the importance of Mrs. McCullough in their lives.  Both seminarians were fortunate, through the generosity of Mrs. McCullough, to travel to Lourdes, France.  The profound experiences that resulted led both men to apply to St. Patrick’s Seminary and begin their studies for the priesthood.

It was definitely a night to remember! Sincere congratulations go to Mrs. Kay Flannery who won the $10,000 first prize in the raffle and to all those who participated in the live auction.

The community of St. Patrick's Seminary & University wishes to thank all who attended and supported the Fourth Annual Four Pillars Gala.

We hope to see you next year, September 15, 2012 at the next gala which will be held once again on the beautiful grounds of St. Patrick’s Seminary & University.
