Father John (Jack) Olivier, S.S. beloved professor of St. Joseph's College, Mt. View, California from 1947-1965 and this seminary from 1965-1969, died peacefully at the Sulpician retirement center in Catonsville, Maryland slightly before midnight on April 12, 2013. He was a beloved liturgist, musican, chant director and companion on the spiritual journey to so many both inside and outside the halls of the Seminary. He will be missed both here in the West as well as among the Sulpicians and so many friends in the East.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's on May 1, 2013 at 5PM in the main chapel. The public is invited. Due to space limitations, guests are asked to RSVP at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may he rest in peace.

facebookiconThis week, St Patrick's Seminary & University revamped our Facebook page and began posting more regularly. We already have over 100 "likes" and have been checked out by over 1,000 people. We even have St Patrick's parents posting in response to our posting of our annual group St Patrick's Day photo. (The Moms think that their sons look great!) Our site is managed by the Advancement Department under the direction of President/Rector McKearney to ensure that appropriate and accurate messages are posted. We welcome you to explore our page, leave a message, and learn more about the Seminary.

Our address is 320 Middlefield Road--a well traveled Silicon Valley byway.

But in order to enter our beautiful and historic 40 acre campus, visitors must travel down a tree lined driveway.

Many of the trees were planted over a century ago--and the path to St Patrick's offers an opportunity to celebrate the changing seasons.

The driveway photo above was taken by seminarian Justin Liu (Diocese of San Francisco) on the first day of Spring.
